I love the photo, but especially enjoyed reading the facts you provided. With all that computer paper, I wonder if one of these "rag pickers" will one day discover a big secret and change the world with some great invention or investment. I'm being silly now.

Great photo. We have special days where the city will take electronic waste. I read a book that was written in the 1930's in New York and "rag pickers" were common then too, although I'm not sure what the people were called.

There are companies here in Singapore that collects all the motherboards and various parts of PCs etc and extract the gold and other precious metals out of them.
